Installation in Gelså creek near Åbøl. A raft built of styrofoam, wood and rockwool, filled with soil and barley stolen from a nearby field. The raft was built with a capillary system, so the barley was irrigated from the creek.
The barley was harvested in August. – See the process here
The project was formed into a publication, with a DIY guide. – See the publication here.
The harvested seeds will be sown in the raft in spring 2018. The work is an ongoing project, with the purpose of breeding barley plants that specifically are adjusted to the conditions on the raft.
